Peanut Butter Chai Latte (vegan)

One of my friends works at a really cool cafe, where I had my first chai latte, which I instantly became obsessed with. Sadly, they can't make the drink vegan, so I had to recreate the recipe at home...this is what I came up with, and I have to tell it tastes almost like my favorite chai at the cafe.



For 1 cup of Chai Latte


Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup of strong black tea

  • 2/3 cup of soy milk (I usually use vanilla soy milk for this recipe and it tastes incredible!)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp peanut butter

  • 1/2 tsp sugar (use more if the milk is unsweetened, and you can use date instead instead)


Directions:

Make the tea (I suggest making more and using the rest later because that way you don't waste a whole teabag for 1/3 cup of tea), then set it aside.

In a separate saucepan combine the milk, cinnamon, peanut butter and sugar. Heat it up, then blend it to make it foamy and pour it in a mug. Pour the tea in too and sprinkle some cinnamon on top. Enjoy:)
